The Caryatid – Maidens of Karyai

A town on the Peloponnese where sculpted female figures hail from the ancient streets of Karyai, serving as architectural support replacing traditional columns. This temple is dedicated to the goddess of the hunt and wilderness; Artemis. The Caryatid porch of the Erechtheion in Athens, Greece houses replicas because the originals are preserved in the Acropolis Museum.  Just as statues were carved from marble, bronze, or clay to convey beauty and meaning, IASON ROUVAS collections are crafted with durability and aesthetics in mind to express creativity and style.
